Begin to Say

I really want to tell you where I’m coming from,
all about the things I’ve seen and done.
But I don’t even know how to begin to say it.
I’ve never really learned how to communicate.
This feeling that I have is a familiar one.
Though I’ve never put it into words before.
Sitting across the table drinking coffee now,
and I just keep on thinking about how lucky I am.
To be looking in your eyes and see your smiling face.
I could probably play the guitar chords,
but I don’t even know how to begin to say it.
