All the Eyes

I’m using all my empathy,
all the common ground,
the things I’ve heard in passing,
and the things I’ve heard you say.

I can understand it.
I can comprehend.
But, I’m left only to imagine
how you’re struggle must have led…

down the path of least resistance,
the one with all the parties,
all the eyes,
and all the friends.

A lot of times it’s easier
when things go wrong.
Blame is such an easy
reality to live in.

It’s so unhealthy though.
It holds back the healing process,
only allowing growth
to be stimulated from the outside.

When the world around crumbles…
it does not take us with it.
Jumping down that hole
is always our choice.
