Personal Time

I’m going to take some personal time finally.
It’s sunny, so I’ll step outside to watch people.
It will be nice to see them pass by without being noticed.
I’ll find a giant pine tree… use it’s roots to rest myself.
I’ll be almost invisible there, in the shade.
Those are the interactions I like most,
the ones where I don’t have to risk anything,
the ones that protect me from revealing.

It’s time to talk about my personal life finally,
the part of me that hides under trees,
more comfortable in the shade
than I’ve ever been under bright lights…
but those seem to be the interactions I need most.
It’s sunny, so I’ll step outside to meet people.
I’ll ask them their names…
then it will be easier to say hello when I see them again.
