The Trees We’ve Climbed

Life has a way of putting us in the places we need to be,
giving us challenges, opening doors.

Life doesn’t deal with explanations.
The why’s are left up to us,
our hindsight, and our memories.
The answers are easier to recognize
when we’re standing on that hill,
looking down at all the trees we’ve climbed,
the bones we’ve broken,
the secrets we’ve kept.
The answers try to hide otherwise.
Life is most rewarding
when we walk through those open doors.

When we face those challenges,
life has a way of putting us in the places we need to be.
