Aftermath

I just know that it happened…
’cause I’m dealing with the aftermath.
Wishing time would rewind back,
with the knowledge, and the strength:
to take a chance,
to ask that girl,
to take that step,
to make that turn,
to be myself,
to dig deep down,
to make that jump,
to just say no.
But I didn’t do it right,
and I don’t know where I went wrong.
I just know that it happened…
’cause I’m dealing with the aftermath.
Wishing time would rewind back,
with the knowledge, and the strength:
to be a man,
to stand up straight,
to knock him down,
to buy more time,
to save that life,
to say I’m sorry,
to let things go,
to find the truth.
But I didn’t do it right,
and I don’t know where I went wrong.
I just know that it happened…
’cause I’m dealing with the aftermath.
