Keep it All

Keep the innocence I used to feel without knowing it was there,
the speed and agility I used to have when my knees didn’t swell
and my back didn’t ache.
Keep the friends I think about sometimes but never seem to call anymore,
the days of playing in the park, pushing pretty girls on swings,
while wishing I could just grow up…
Keep it all.

Take the technology I need so much, the car, the phone, the television, the podcasts and the internet.
Take the possessions, and the luxuries I live with every day,
the dreams I never talk about…
Take it all

Just leave me with my only girl… and you can name your price.

A very fine sentiment….lots of the ‘stuff’ we have really isn’t as valuable as the relationships with friends and family….thanks for the poem.
